The world's a little blurry,
or maybe it's my eyes,
Thal narrowed her eyes, processing the information as she watched the fire dance around her fingertips. "That sounds difficult, considering I've only ever heard him, but I'll let you know if the opportunity arises." Maybe she could trick him, or be too fast for him to react (although she doubted that). Either way, the only possibility would be if she met him physically, and she wasn't too keen on that idea.

Luckily, there were some things she was more than willing and capable to do, training and hunting being primary amongst them. She gave Hadama a stoic nod of her head, and Thal made note to keep her eyes peeled for any letters that may come her way. "Of course. Just tell me when and I'm there." After all, that's what she did for people who had earned her loyalty and respect: she dropped everything to support them, hoping they might do the same for her. "And I'll try to be more careful this time." There was a light teasing in her tone, although her eyes would speak of her regrets for having lost control during their last spar. It wasn't her proudest moment.

"Do not put yourself in unnecessary danger." The request was gentle, the Tidebreaker knowing full well that Thalassa had courage and boldness to spare. But she also had a survivor's good sense - sometimes - and he put his faith in her ability to know when to pick her battles as they warmed their hands at the undying fire in the heart of the Queen's Gambit.

Her willingness to help him, even when their last training had gone so awry, warmed him far more than mere flame. He glanced over to her, but seeing the stoic determination in her expression he did not smile or try to lessen the power of her gift to him. "Thank you," he murmured, though her teasing a moment later brought the light back to his eyes as he turned to give her a solemn bow. "As will I." The wounds had been healed without a scar and he had long-since forgiven her. He had made his own mistakes in that spar, ones that he hoped he had learned from, enough to avoid repeating.

He reached out to rest a hand on her shoulder briefly, giving it a light squeeze of assurance before he turned his attention back to the Eye. He was content to simply spend some time in quiet contemplation with his friend, letting the comfort of their friendship settle over his shoulders like armor against the dangers and dark times ahead.
