There is love inside this madness
We are walking on the moon
Soh had learned much during her tenure as the Heart, and among the knowledge she'd gained were the many titles that had been used by Stormbreak's rulers in years past. Still, she remained quiet after her initial inquiry, offering Zavien the opportunity to think without her rushing him or pushing him in one direction or another. This was, after all, his decision. She had no reason to seek to influence him one way or another, although she might suggest steering away from 'king' if only because Dahlia had fashioned herself queen, and Soh wasn't sure what connotations the region might still have for such regal titles.

But her concerns were neither here nor there, it seemed, as Zavien seemed content to stick with 'Heart.' Soh nodded along with Lena's wink. "It's up to you, but I will say: as the former Heart, if that's the title you want, you may have it with my blessing." She offered Zavien an encouraging smile, too, before finishing her stack of paperwork and moving on to the next.

Soh gives Zavien her blessing to use 'Heart' unless he wants something else!
Though I don't believe in magic
I believe in me and you

Zavien

The women didn't have to worry about any lofty ideals of 'kings' or titles of dictatorship. They hadn't even crossed Zavien's mind. After all, he didn't see himself as the person who was born to be in the position or groomed throughout his life for power and prestige, but someone who was appointed in a time of intended purpose and growth, the one who's responsibility it was to protect and lead them, to serve their needs and put their interests firsts, to guide them in a unified front.

Various options crossed through his mind as he took what piles had been made and began setting them aside in drawers or on shelves. One thing was for sure, and he gave Soh a gentle smile as he said. "Thank you, but I think you will always be the Heart of Stormbreak, and no one can ever replace you, Soh." Certainly not him.

Zavien stood from where he'd done his best to organize the papers, tilting his head again and dusting pieces from his pants as a thought finally came to mind from other periods of the city. "Perhaps... I could bring back Commander. I am a Dragoon after all, and if I have any say in it, we will have a formidable force again soon, to protect the people and keep us from ever being vulnerable again." He gave them both a determined look, stubborn in his goals for the city.

Only once they'd given their final thoughts and agreements on the matter did Zavien cross his arms, feeling accomplished by the accomplishments and decisions of the day. "I think that about settles it then. I appreciate you both for your faith, and can't wait to see what's in store for us." His grin was bright and hopeful, ready for to face any problem with the people at his side.

They spent the rest of the time discussing smaller issues and reconstruction plans before he insisted they break for lunch. By the end of the day, a new sign had appeared next to his door, rudimentary and carved in wood as a placeholder. In bold letters, the words read:

Zavien Alexander
Commander of Stormbreak

Roles have been chosen, priorities have been determined, and paperwork has been filed so that the new Commander of Stormbreak and his council can begin leadership! <3

You don't have to prove anyone wrong.
You just have to prove yourself right.
