RONIN
"Oh, is that right?" Ronin raises his eyebrows, able to feel and hear Remi's smile, not to mention the cascade of other emotions that flow brightly between them in every place they touch. "Well, I'd apologise for being wonderful, but I don't think I'm modest enough to pull it off." With a soft huff of laughter he allows himself to be held more tightly against the other man, hands smoothing carefully down the length of his back around his outstretched wing.
Remi's laughter is contagious, enough to have Ronin shifting at last so he might catch sight of the boyish flush on his husband's face even after all these years. "In your defence, you really were quite good at it. The problem was that you sketched all these philandering poses of women, and then never once flirted with them for real." Not as far as he remembers, anyway - Remi had been the perfect gentleman. (The complete opposite of his sketchbook).
"Mm, to think I was thrown in jail and you weren't," he says, grabbing suddenly for the blankets to drag them over their heads. "Don't worry," he continues, "later I'm sure I can be persuaded to play Storm Guard to your criminal mastery. First, though - another nap."

soft spoken with a broken jaw
we step outside, but not to brawl
