If I asked would you come and fight with me?
His kicks lands, he feels it, but it sure as shit seems to rattle through him more than Remi. He draws it back, maintaining balance as he gets both legs back under him, gagged again by the impervious force that is the Bastion. It's giving, the first attempt at cutting a diamond and discovering steel and iron have limits. "You're actually insane Mr. T," he breathes, a hand rising to wipe away a bead of sweat beginning to form on his forehead.

A startled "whoa," slips free next as Remi shifts abruptly, in more ways than one. From knees to feet and man to mock angel, Kaisel is left standing like Bella Swan while the demigod bounds down the corridor with some variant of as if you could outrun me! "So you're picking the harder way!" Kaisel calls out after him, huffing into a run even as a laugh breaks free. "You can never outrun the deeds you've done!" he shouts, ominously, as he chases after the hooligan.

He dives for Remi's feet with his own, trying to trip up the rise of his toe into the stride, figuring that surely he still adheres to gravity's rules if nothing else. That he's now sporting extra appendages for balance doesn't help in the slightest, so equally he reaches up with his hands to try and grapple with one of the wings and get the joint into a headlock, the weight of him and his momentum sagging on Remi's back perhaps enough force to tip him that much more forward into his jostled step.

4/4 tries to trip Remi and grab his wing to bring him down

the bastion

Remi staggers as Kaisel’s foot finds his heel, momentum pitching him forward; coordination never was his strong suit, not even when falling down stairs was Ronin’s specialty. Kaisel’s fingers close around the thick joint at the base of Remi’s wing for a half-second, and then everything about the Bastion softens at the edges, the world draining of colour.

He shimmers, not like a man turning pale but like a lantern guttering and then being snuffed, and the tawny feathers and warm bulk slip away. Where Remi stood is a shape wrapped in darkness and salt: a wraith that hovers a hand’s breadth off the wet stone. Ragged shrouds of shadow peel and billow around limbs that have stretched too long to be comfortable, and the light in the cavern seems to bend around the shape instead of through it.

When he turns toward Kaisel, there’s no travelling tongue in the voice that comes, only a gravelled, low sound that seems to crawl out of the walls themselves. "I said you would never take me alive."

4/4 Remi becomes a WRAITH.

If I asked would you come and fight with me?
It's more than color that drains from the world. It feels like every bit of peace and hope and good goes with it too. The feathers and flesh beneath him don't just vanish, they're consumed. The void that surfaces in their place is haunting, for that depthless, ancient hunger is not content to merely feast, it must gorge. A wail rises in response, impossible at first to find the origin. A safe assumption is that it's some wretched sound fighting back from the pit of cold darkness that's taking shape, as if buried deep within something is struggling against its very nature.

It's Kaisel though.

He jerks back so forcefully his body cannot rise quick enough to the urgency of it, forward motion forcing him to tumble against the spooky shit despite every fiber of him actively fighting against it. It's that, more than the sudden appearance of the nightmare, that strangles out the sound of pure terror from him, akin to walking through an unseen spiderweb, if said spiderweb would also gnaw on your soul.

He doesn't rise, he bounds to his feet, reaching with more than just a long stride towards the exit of the caves. Every part of him reaches.

"YOU WIN!" is all he calls back towards Remi, knowing the man is buried still somewhere in there, but not willing to face an indestructible version of him in this form. "CAVES ARE CLEAR, LET'S GO HOME!"
