Deepfrost couldn’t keep Melita contained in one area or another; she found herself wandering in all directions, soaking in the repose and cultivating chaos amidst the interim. At some point she’d have to conjure more games, more entertainment, more diversions for the masses (and with LongNight pressing, maybe that’d be far easier when distractions were a necessity for old memories). But still, in all its eventuality, she wound up back in Torchline, along her favorite port and favorite shrine, bags laden with goodies for her herald.

This time she bowed her head as she placed the newfound wares: a ball and cup game, a stack of puzzles adorned with Ludo’s features, and then several jars worth of caramel, taffy, and lemon drops, figuring the raggedy deity would appreciate the range of choices. “Hey Ludo,” she declared, full of her wild cadence, shielding her eyes from the pathways of the sun drifting in and out of clouds – half-wondering if it’d seen her display in Halo, then thought better of it, considering how much it didn’t like the cold. Instead, she smiled, waiting, full of wonder and awe. “I loved what you did at the last masquerade,” with a wink and a nod to banishing Maea and company for their outlandish behavior. A glorious thing to behold, really, and a wave of inspiration for future Melita antics. “I was hoping you’d be able to help me with making one of my abilities stronger again – the touch one,” so that she could do more than replicate – with power, with prowess, with potential.

ludo Braved the forests, braved the stone Braved the icy winds and fire Braved and beat them on my own Ludo - still in the form of a dark haired, dark eyed youth with bare feet and blackened fingers and toes - appears wearing Caido's approximation of an oodie. It's adorned with little raggedy Ludos (and that's a philosophy discussion in and of itself), the hood drawn up and its hands buried in the fluffy front pocket, and it shuffles forward to begin shoving Melita's offerings into said pocket with aplomb. "Are you not hibernating with the rest of the world?" It wonders with a brief narrowing of its eyes to her, stuffing a lemondrop into each cheek and considering her request. "Mmkay," it says, "but I don't know why you'd want to be outside in this weather, even in Torchline." Still, contemplating the ability and how to help her to make it stronger is apparently enough to warm it for now, because with a wild grin (and hamster lemon drop cheeks) it announces what it needs. Melita has received a quest from Ludo! She must: 1. Use her Monkey See ability and use it to assist someone. 2. Use her Monkey See ability and use it to affect the surrounding environment. (In whatever way she feels appropriate). 3. Complete a thread playing a game of tag with at least 2 other characters. 4. Complete a thread copying someone (e.g. their homework, their instructions in a task, their voice and mannerisms).

The oodie looked fantastic – and quite frankly, Melita nearly asked the herald where it’d snagged something like that. It would’ve done wonders for her on any trip to Halo, and she looked it over with increasing awe as the herald appeared – mouth agape, then returning to a grin, wholly delighted. “I guess not,” she shrugged at the inquiry though; despite the inclination to do just that some days. “Wanted to spread your good work no matter the season,” arrived with a wink of its own, giggling as the blackened fingers grasped hold of lemondrops – and the threshold of other offerings rapidly disappearing into pockets.

Amidst the hamster cheeks and the thoughts though, they both persevered, and she wove the notions through her head, pondering who best to bother about the whole shenanigans. “These are great!” Especially if she could harass someone into playing tag or whatever. And make it much more difficult by being an asshole about it. “Stay warm! I’ll bring some cocoa next time!” She gave a generous wave, before departing, the mission already unfurling through her head.
