I'm still comparing your past to my future

Danta is a big believer in making one's own fate, but that suggests that he must also believe in fate in order to buck against it. However you slice it, it certainly seems fate-like that the preparations for their healing fountain come to fruition just at the close of Leafchange, where the world is about to grow hostile to those with fire in their blood and where its properties might be needed more frequently.

He enters the Temple shrine on bare feet and in loose, white linen stained at the sleeves and hems with dark and still drying blood; the evidence of a hunt he's not long returned from. Sighing out the tension from his shoulders and rolling his neck to each side as he approaches the obsidian altar, the Maverick gets to his knees with practiced devotion. Today, along with the remnants of his bloodlust and a donation from his own veins, he brings a bottle of dark cabernet, feeling the wine they'd chosen to be a fitting tribute alongside his traditional offerings.

"Dark lady," he says, voice swallowed up in the flickering dark. "We have done as requested. The Grounds is ready to receive your blessing."

Tasks. There is no time limit. There are currently 8 active Grounders. This means 4 unique characters have to participate. Characters can participate more than once. Dantalion must participate in at least 2 threads. Kiada must participate in at least 1 thread.

1. A PQ of 4 (or more) Grounders gathering a herd of unicorns to assist with #4. The PQ must start in The Barrows, move through the Outer Brambles and end in the Inner Quarter. The thread will be split each time they enter into a new land. (Danta, Asta, Kiada, Fox)

2. A Mini Event of at least 4 Grounders (with 3 posts each) discussing where the fountain should be located and what kind of wine it should contain.

3. A PQ building the fountain in its designated location.

Blood falls freely. The wine bottle smashes of its own accord. And two very different reds flow and mingle on the obsidian, soaking into the cracks where order meets chaos as though Dygra is drinking both with equal approval. The fire will flare hotter in the sconces even if the light grows no brighter, and Danta will feel phantom hands cupping his cheeks and pressing to his shoulders, a presence as comforting as it is overwhelming.

"Your region has done well, Maverick," Dygra purrs. "You are, all of you, nothing if not adaptable, as you well know." Despite very few of the tasks being in the Ancients' wheelhouse, they had completed them to her satisfaction. And satisfaction deserves reward.

Danta will sense it rather than see it, but outside the Temple the first trickles of wine begin to flow from the strange angles and jagged shapes of the fountain, until the pool at its base is dark and deep and full.

"I believe it is customary to celebrate with a drink," Dygra says, amusement threading her words.

Healing Wine Fountain | The fountain outside the Temple possesses Mastered-Level healing wine that can be used within the Hollowed Grounds. All HG citizens can have a flask of healing wine on their person during KQs/PQ+s within this location. Once removed from the HG borders, it becomes regular red wine.

Dygra's touch, unseen though it might be, has Danta's eyes slipping shut immediately as if to better feel the heat of it, to track it against his cheeks and throat and shoulders. What little tension left in his shoulders unlocks, leaving him loose limbed and almost sleepy in his reverent devotion. "If we are, it is because we were made that way by your hands," he says freely, the words dripping from his lips like a prayer.

At the suggestion of a drink, though, he practically feels the shift in the air, the way some part of the dark goddess has unleashed and embedded itself in the fountain outside the Temple, and his eyes blink back open to regard the bloodied altar with a soft smile. "Don't mind if I do," he says, intending to be the first to cup his hands beneath the streams of magical wine to taste the fruits of their labour. "Thank you, goddess. We will use it well."
