Hopefully he would remember that they had been able to talk like friends, once. In her mind, it was only yesterday... but time had flowed like water under bridges since then, and she knew very little of all that had gone down since.

Too many relations tied them together for that not to be the case - and if nothing else, she knew how to write letters.
