The need to argue and defend what Ronin has done feels like a physical weight in his stomach that he wishes he could turn away from. He thinks too, that even if he doesn't talk like Ronin is better off without him, that it isn't untrue. That they can't imagine living without one another is hardly the foundation of a happy and healthy life, but gods if it isn't true. It really is just Ronin, in every possible understanding of what that might mean.
