The honeybee that had buzzed past Meriel buzzed back, circling curiously above the cat’s head. Another one appeared from the leaves of the tree and descended to fly around Jorseval. Both bees hovered around the strange creatures in the tree for just a moment before they struck. Both the cat and the person would find themselves stung, the bees selflessly giving their lives in defense of the hive. For you see, somehow, in all of Jorseval’s time in this favorite tree of his, he had somehow failed to notice the enormous hive in the upper branches. Now, an angry and veritable storm of bees poured out of the hive, called by the death of the members of their swarm. It quickly split into two clouds. The much smaller one went for Meriel while the larger one charted a course straight for Jorseval. These interlopers would be dealt with.
