Trinkets in the rubble

At this point, the squirrels are hoping that the young Ascended takes something from them. Hopefully the right thing, the one that seems to sing and call like to like. So they do nothing other than watch and chirp their little words of nuts and bolts and glass over and over again until it quiets when Nikolai has picked his prize. The metal thing Nikolai pulls out is a pair of glasses, the lenses in good condition if not a bit dusty or dirty with a metal frame that’s strong and sleek.
