It seems useless to apologize for that now, accident though it may have been. “You don’t have to hate it, or any of them” she offers quietly, meaning the other heralds. “That’s the beauty of free will and the choices our Lady offers us. You do you, so long as you don’t hurt the rest of the family.” If she wasn’t looking at her fellow Grounder before, she is now. “I'm not sure where you were, but it'd be helpful if you kept showing up. We'll be fighting for our lives before you know it.”
And that’s enough of that lecture unless Maea presses it. Wessex, for one, is moving along as she fiddles with trying to make the scapulae lie flat enough. “Well enough.” An overstatement, but Isla’s decision isn’t hers to tell - and their deception needs to remain secret. “We got Nate back and there’s a ceasefire between Stormbreak and the Grounds. Hopefully it’ll hold for a bit.”
