Paige was actually up to 31 backbend kick-overs; Everest had been counting. Or well, he'd been recording.
With a number of slashes and lines on his page (currently Paige was at #13 and had travelled some 24ft), Ever blinks, completely dumbfounded that hisresearch subject friend had stopped in the middle of her activity and was now addressing him. "Uhm." Rendered utterly speechless by this sudden shift, all the boy could do was stare. Stare at the angle of Paige's spine, stare at her hair cascading towards the grass, stare at the blue of her eyes and the smile on her lips.
"Uhm." He tries again. "Hello Paige." The perfunctory greeting all but slips past his lips without Ever realizing he's said it. "I'm...writing...observations." Having not grown into this stage of puberty quite so gracefully as Paige has, the boy's voice cracks as he explains what he's doing which has a crimson blush rushing up to his cheeks.
