He supposes her choice in food shouldn’t surprise him – given the fact the majority of his shifts tend to prefer red meat, catered with the delicate balance of a good amount of vegetables to keep the prey animals in his skin equally as happy. So he goes hand in hand with her, shovel lifted over his shoulder to start the walk back to the House of Midnight as he mulls over the options. A thought comes to mind and he flashes her a playful grin, inclining his head slightly toward her as he gives her hand a squeeze. “Think I might have the perfect thing in mind, then.” He decides, before they make it past the edge of the Dreaming Well, handing her the shovel to hold onto before he shifts into that pegasus shift she so adores, waiting for her to climb on so that the trek back doesn’t take quite as long.
And it doesn’t, the whole time spent trying to decide just what he intends on having made, depositing the shovel back into the shed off to the side, beckoning hellos to his workers and frequent customers as he takes Hotaru’s hand to guide her through the heady building toward the kitchens, careless of what kind of rumors this might spark, too. Always ones for gossip, here at the House of Midnight. But Sunjata flashes her a roguish grin, letting her hand go the second they’re in the kitchen. “Pick out whatever you’d like to drink.” He offers, so that he can have a moment to speak privately with the kitchen staff to keep the choice of food a surprise.
