Everest
Blushing furiously and casting his blue eyes down toward the ground, Everest frowned at his feet. 'Well, I thought that I should.' He mumbled uncertainly, hazarding a glance toward the mermanta while desperately trying to recall anything in his memory that he might have learned about Torchline's expectations when it came to meeting members of their government. Finding nothing, but ever erring on the side of caution, Everest tilted forward from the waist in what looked more like a slow-motion stumble than a bow.
Indeed, having to catch himself with one foot, the aviator straghtening slightly before holding out the driftwood for the King's approval. "If this is considered your resource I would be happy to hand it over. I only thought...well, since everyone seems keen to get rid of it, that I should help. And that's when I noticed how strong and resilient it seemed to be and I thought.." Swallowing, his cheeks still flushed, Ever scratched nervously at his forehead before shrugging.
"Well, I thought it would be a good idea."

If I told you that you'd do nothing with it
I'd still be that cigarette that you couldn't finish
