He stays beside Hotaru when he, then, captures Melita’s attention with a wave and he returns it just as Hotaru does, setting down his lantern for Nate before her suggestion of seeing Melita has him nodding and already taking the steps to get there — mindful of the height difference and his long legs as to not seem like he’s dragging Hotaru along with him.

And maybe, because this festival and the amount of loss they’re all feeling, he’s a bit touchy when he lets go of Horaru’s hand and hopes that his niece won’t stab him when he attempts to give her a hug.
