Luck was not with Alys this time, it seemed; she accomplished absolutely nothing with her attempt to smack the vial from Noah's hand. In truth, she hadn't really anticipated it working, but she was running out of ideas, and it seemed like something that she could try. Maybe if she'd managed to catch him by surprise...
But in the time it took her to realize that her ploy hadn't worked, Noah had body-checked her, sending her flying with an audible oof as the air rushed from her lungs. She cursed - or tried to - as she regained her breath, forcing herself to her feet as she wheezed. She really shouldn't try to spar against men twice her size. Or maybe she should get better magic that she could wield more efficiently.
As it was, she had illusion and telekinesis at her disposal, neither of which was very strong. Still, she wondered if she could trick Noah with her illusions. This time, she concentrated on making it look like his hand was opening and the vial falling to the floor. It probably wouldn't work, but maybe it would be disorienting enough that he would loosen his grip. As the fake vial fell toward the floor, Alys lunged forward, attempting to throw her shoulder - with her full weight behind it - into Noah's stomach.
