Alys had precious few true friends. Sure, Deimos was a friend, and Noah, perhaps, and maybe even Evie, but the ones who she truly loved were limited to those select few: Talyson and Hotaru. For a long while, she'd been lonely, cast out by her family and left to wander the world alone. Then she'd worn her solitude like armor, protecting herself against the inevitable loss once people really got to know her. But then, to her surprise, Tal and Ru had adopted her, accepted her, supported her, and she'd come full circle to trusting once more. They were family, after all - found family, perhaps, but family all the same. She'd do anything for them, and she trusted that they would do anything for her.
So, had she known how Tal was feeling, she would have been quick to reassure him in any way she could that she was here to stay, and that he'd better get used to having her around, because she wasn't going anywhere. At least, not emotionally. Physically, she was ready to explore, but that didn't mean she wouldn't be there when he needed her!
But since she didn't know how Tal was feeling, she was content to settle in the warmth that she felt at sharing a meal with a friend, and she blushed faintly at his praise. He'd been a skeptic, back when they'd met, but he'd never belittled her or her work, and she'd always been grateful for it. At his suggestion, though, her eyes widened, and she sat up a little straighter. "I - really?" she asked. "I mean, that would be wonderful, I just - I never dreamed -" She took a breath, touched. "Thank you," she said after a moment, her smile brilliant. "I think that's a marvelous idea. Now we just have to find the right city."
