Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Remi's smile was laboured, and the most he could manage was a weak hum of agreement. The thought of designing or creating anything felt like an impossible task. Without his sight, how could he possibly piece anything together? But those worries were far too painful, and so flaring his nostrils not unlike Isla had, the alchemist sighed.
Like Ronin, had the situation been different, the alchemist might have sighed and relaxed into the touch. It was only Vai, really, who would run her hands through his curls like this. He adored this sort of affection, but now, knowing the reasoning behind it, it was all Remi could do not to stiffen.
I don't know if this will hurt, but I promise I'm only doing what's needed. Alright? Isla asked, and in Ronin's hands, Remi nodded. Lowering her horn, Isla placed it right between his eyebrows, the tip of it sharp enough that indeed she would do significant damage if the alchemist did move. With a pulse of light, magic flowered from the mythical creature across the alchemist's skin. Tears knit themselves back together, his eyebrows were regrown (more or less), and the redness and swelling was all but gotten rid of. There was little the unicorn could do about Remi's actual eye though. In time one of them might heal, but in that moment she wouldn't have bet on it.
Throughout this process, Remi made a fist against his knee, his fingers fluttering as if searching for the hand that had just been there, though knowing fullwell that it was cradling his skull. As Isla finished, Remi sobbed a note of agony, his entire body collapsing forward.
