Evie
Evie flushes to her roots at Alys' excited surprise, but she can't help the giddy smile on her face either. She loves Deimos more than anything in the world, in ways she never knew she could love someone. Ways she didn't even think existed outside of her novels. The honeymoon phase had never really ended for her, so being able to finally tell someone is an exhilaration that makes her heart pound and jubilation spread through her veins. "Thank you," she giggles breathily, almost starstruck. "I haven't actually told anybody yet. You're the first." Deimos had plotted and planned with Kiada ahead of the proposal, but so far she isn't sure if even he has told anyone else. Alys might truly be the first of everyone.
She'd been keen to ask Alys considering her closeness with Deimos, but Evie's heart - despite being full with Deimos and all their bondeds - is admittedly a lonely one. Hadama is her only close friend, so it strikes her dumb to have Alys offer to do such a thing on the basis of a newly blossoming friendship instead of an exchange. And if it makes her eyes glint with a sheen of tears, she hopes the Seer won't tell anyone.
"Thank you," she whispers, because the emotion is too strong to speak past. "We're having a private ceremony and a public reception. I was afraid I wouldn't have anyone else to invite - and my only other friend is a Mer, so I don't think he'd be able to help much with the dress," she laughs self-consciously, blinking away the remnants of sentiment from her lashes. Lifting the key once more, she regards it with pursed lips. "But...well, I still want to just give it to you. Why don't you offer me something instead? I don't quite know what to ask for." Not now that Alys would be doing something so huge for her.
