Evie wasn’t known for her patience anyway, at least not since he’d known her. “I will keep them then,” with a wink, as if imagining her practicing placing it on her finger, which he wouldn’t put past her. “I have something else we can do in the meantime,” besides lingering on the roof; and for once it wasn’t layered in innuendo.
