There were so many emotions playing out on Tal's face, and Alys couldn't help her lips twitching into a grin. She'd never been one for crushes, never been one for physical attraction, but she couldn't help but think that the relief in his smile was adorable. She watched him affectionately in the starlight, something like wonder kindling in her chest. He cared about her - her - in a way that no one else had. Her dark eyes fell to where their fingers lay intertwined, some feeling she couldn't name stirring as she considered that the gesture was so simple, so easy, so welcomed. The past season flashed in her memory as she realized just how reliant she had become on Tal, just how comfortable she had grown with his closeness. She swallowed hard. She didn't know when they had grown into something beyond friends, but somehow, somewhere along the way... Whatever they had, it was more than just friendship. More than just love.
