Biting her lip to hold back protestations, it was hard for her not to point out that people remained included in the things that made her teeth itch. "When did you become so wise?" she murmured, lured to return the gesture with an expression that softened ever so slightly. "I hope you are right. I've never been good at getting on... but it would be nice. Misery is becoming a bit... old."
Acting on an impulse, Maea reached out a hand and ran a clawed finger down the sea panther's nose. Soft and warm to the touch, the sensation in and of itself was a sign of change; that it almost made her cry again from sheer joy, that she was even capable of accessing those kinds of emotions - it had to be a good thing.
"Thank you, Jata. For listening."
