The children were split amongst themselves, with either firewood or painting rocks, Mrs. Banks could have a moment to breathe with the smallest of the lot, and Mrs. Knotwise was quietly peeling potatoes and humming as the fire stoked and roared. Best of all, Mrs. Took was silent behind her curtain, save for the mild snoring.
It gave Noah an opportunity to stack with the stronger portions of the brood, as the youths eagerly joined in, either to appease and impress the demigod, or as forms of entertainment.
