It grants her the opportunity to peer up at him, smiling. “It’ll take quite a lot of dinners to balance out this level of surprise gift,” she teases, though the softness of her eyes makes it clear she knows he doesn’t expect her to pay him back. Not for something that is shared between them - something entirely theirs.
