The Sword glanced at the surroundings too – not permitting the rest of the world rambling around them to distract his mind from the proceedings. The cracks in the timber and drywall left him with a stoic balance between a frown and reticence – not surprised, but irritating nonetheless. At the very least, for the moment, they didn’t have to overhaul the entire building, and he’d utilize that modest and minimal relief to maneuver onward.
Nodding towards Evie’s directions, he was still half-inclined to utilize magic. But spackle could only be moderately enhanced by all the incantations riled through his soul and beneath his veins, so instead of leaning into the sigh that desperately wanted to leave his chest, he snagged at trowels and materials, going to an opposite corner and beginning to cover the cracks.
