His friend's departure has left him cold and feeling strangely isolated, and though rolling onto his stomach is uncomfortable (for obvious reasons), it allows him to trail grasping fingers after the botanist. Reaching out for his pants and underwear, he reluctantly thrusts himself into them though makes no effort to actually do them up before wombling back into the houseboat.
