She bows to no one.
Thal sized up the men congregating in front of the building, fairly certain she could take them out, but less certain of her companion's abilities. Although she was hesitant to let him take the lead, there were no obvious flaws in his plan. Her head bobbed in confirmation as she crouched. The back of the building was cast in darkness despite the single lantern so she made her way that direction, keeping her eyes on the three men.
Each man was visible in the light of the cracked doorway. The cloaked figure was the tallest with little visible except a protruding nose and a dangling beard. He was the loudest of the bunch with a booming voice despite their "whispers." Debates about winning hands and bets sounded violent in his tone. Based on their discussion, she assumed that the shortest man (Could he be considered a man?) had lost a large sum of money. The older two were chastising him for choosing the wrong game altogether. His head hung, resigned to accept the reprimands of his elders.
While she waited for her partner to interrupt their chastising, Thalassa peered into the nearby window. It held a table and chair next to three medium sized chests. The employer had not been very forthcoming with specifics on the item they were to retrieve, but she hoped it was being contained in one of those chests. Otherwise, she saw nothing in the room. It appeared that its sole purpose was to protect whatever lay within. A grin hid beneath her scarf at the possibilities.
