At some point she spotted So when Ludo came and the winds slunk and the lights ceased, the unknown beckoned and crawled again. She watched, but didn’t recognize either woman, and was left to bend and bow her head, giving them all space and privacy. Her fingers slid to the top of Sera’s lantern, all lavender and silver, draconic wings on the edges, and hoped for next year.
