To Koa, the Mermanta has always been as steady and secure as a deep-sea current; the soldier can only imagine what it’s like having such a foundation tossed by the surface wave of change. But for now his focus is too absolute and his proximity too near to ponder such things.
And let’s face it: Dama may hold depths as vast as the ocean, but Koa’s always operated near the shallow end of the pool.
