Counting the people who had spoken for another test, Maea found that they came out in the clear majority. Ellyra's response made that a unanimous agreement, and as she had promised she nodded her permission to go ahead. But Thalassa was given a stern look, for the sheer recklessness of her suggestion.
"Absolutely not," was her verdict, that brooked no argument on the subject. "I will not allow any such thing to be done under my authority. The safety of all involved is my first priority - either you accept that or you will be put under watch while we finish up the experiments. Do I make myself clear?" She kept her eyes on Thalassa until she received an answer, and only turned to the task of organizing the experiment once she had.
"Alright, since you want to find out whether scratches or other attacks spread infection as well, I suggest letting the Tangleweeds come into contact with one another. That will require all of us, I suspect, as we can't permit the infected one to swallow up the other. Not sure where it gained teeth, but it definitely have some now. Talyson, Sah, you did a good job on the barricade; can you alter it slightly to get them closer to one another? Edmund, Ellyra and I will shift and ensure that they can't get anywhere should they escape. Thalassa, you will take notes."
