Sleep was not far away. But before she could let it claim her she had to know what his answers were. Where this strange, unfamiliar path lined with thorns and roses might lead. Trust, friendship, all those were good and well, but only a shimmering mirage compared to the reality that was butting heads and eking out compromise from clashing ideals and lifestyles. But if there was a sweet spot to be found, some place in the middle that resembled this quiet room and the comfort she had somehow settled into, then... it might be worth the effort.
And it seemed Asta thought so to. She didn't have to wait long for the response. And for all that she was a grown woman, not a school girl, she blushed like one and was glad for the blanket and the darkness as it gave her plenty to hide her smile behind. There came a happy little sigh from the pile on the bed, and a final few wriggles as she settled, finally ready to sleep.
"Good night, Asta."
