It's hard to breathe when the Old God (Gods?) Evie so deeply reveres appears before them, their calm expressions providing an untouchable and ethereal nature that emphasizes their eternal natures as opposed to Mort's warmth and Vi's righteousness. Than learning to enjoy again
Evie understands implicitly what they mean, though her human heart has difficulty being so removed and she knows it. "Thank you, Rae. We will be sure to use it with the consideration it deserves." She has considered the benefits of keeping this as close to the chest as possible once it's instituted, if only to keep the news from reaching the Family, but such games of conspiracy and alliances are not to be taken lightly. However they go about it, Evie swears to herself that they will wield this power carefully to keep not only the infected safe, but Halo as well.
