She narrows her gaze, grappling with understanding. She takes the bowl next, not really interested in starving. There was nothing more annoying than owing someone else, she should know! It’s been decades since she made that deal and still no word from her patron. “Right, just make sure I don’t expire beforehand,” she mutters, her upper lip curling in disdain.
There's an unsettling aura about this woman as if you've bargained with the devil herself. "Thanks for the offer, but I wouldn’t even know where to start," she admitted all while stirring the broth, it looked quite fishy. Taking a careful sip, she then discovered it surprisingly tasted alright.
If only she hadn't left all her belongings in the cabin. Maybe she could establish herself here, earn enough to forge a new life, and eventually hire help to reclaim her home. But without her book, she'd be starting from square one. Not to mention, the flora in this place likely differs greatly from what she's accustomed to. She exhaled tiredly, as she thought of all this.
