Were the Maverick a touch more sober he might have realised more about this situation than he does. Alas, instead he can only smile into the warmth of the other man's embrace, his head tilting to rest against Asta's as he hides his face in the crook of his neck. "No, I suppose I wasn't," he agrees; not at the conference and not at the ball, though he likes to think he put up a good front. Asta hadn't noticed until now, so he doubts anyone else had.
"I have no idea." He huffs, brow furrowing as he tries to think back. "I mean, I imagine she was trying to stop Dahlia from getting involved, but..." But who the fuck could stop that? "I'll speak to her about it tomorrow, or something." Or something being more likely, if his future hangover is anything to go by.
A tap at his door has him glancing up, Danta's eyes lighting up at the thought of maybe-water-maybe-wine depending on who the bartender had decided posed the bigger threat. (It's Asta currently, FYI). "Come in," he calls automatically.
