Whether or not Danta remembers this night is something that will forever remain locked behind the Maverick's lips - and in truth, it's a coin toss as to whether he'll even recall getting home from the Midwinter Ball. Regardless, he sleeps like the dead, snoring softly in a tangle of heat and limbs and beneath familiar furs and blankets, the firelight dancing against the walls and the canopy over his bed.
It's enough to draw him through until morning, and as anyone who has hit the bottle as hard as Danta can attest, it means he awakens surprisingly early. And whilst the location might be a surprise (though the company is not - he only finds it strange that there aren't more people in the bed alongside he and Asta), it puts him in the perfect position for some mischief.
And so it's mischief that will awaken the butcher a short time later, in the form of slow kisses against his throat and whisper-soft fingers gliding across his body. Danta removes the layers of fur and fabric slowly, until he can straddle the other man's lap in an unconscious reversal of their positions the previous evening.
When Asta does choose to open his eyes, it will be to the sight of the Maverick astride him, dressed in every ounce of the butcher's finery from the night before. It's true that the other man's clothes don't fit him in quite the same way, but Danta has been careful to adorn himself appropriately - silk shirt, tight fitting vest, necktie - all he's missing are sharp teeth and an accent, as far as he's concerned.
Oh, and pants. He's not wearing those.
