Huffing a quiet laugh, Maea waved for him to do as he wished with the greenery and pressed out a thin smile. "We're building a portal to the Climb," she revealed, as she didn't think it was supposed to be a secret. "I guess it could always serve as an escape route if something were to happen... Perhaps when that's done, I'll suggest warding Jack Tar Landing, so that we can get supplies in and out of the region."
Nodding with approval at how quickly Hadama picked up on how to make a wreath. His question gave her pause, surprise showing in the raised brows. "You never bring plants into your homes?" she wondered, curiously. "They're simply for decoration. Most of the greenery has wilted and gone outside, so we take a bit of what remains home. And when the branches grow warm, they smell good." She reached for a discarded branch and tossed it into the hearth to show him. The green needles crackled merrily as they burned, and before long a fresh, ethereal scent of summery woodlands and living things released into the air. Breathing it in with relish, the relaxing effect it had on her was apparent just with that small handful.
