They reach an impasse, not that Astaroth minds too much. It’s the same argument again and again, and his mind won’t change. He’s a survivor, he always has been. If he wasn’t, he wouldn’t have survived the days in this very area becoming who he is today. But he had also learned from those mistakes – the ones that had gotten him trapped in the first place.
He had gone from tribalistic cannibal to the gentleman butcher. The Mighty Astaroth, as his playful Climb moniker had been. While had he remained in Whitebrim, he’d have been nothing more than fodder for food or potential of continuing bloodlines. He had learned when to pick his fights and when to take it. And it took a great deal of patience and time to get to a point where he could mostly stand up to the hierarchy without harm.
He has enough scars as is, the ones created by blade were simply hidden amongst the rest.
But he remains in silence for a few long moments, guiding to the next portion, pausing as the mouth becomes viewable once more and it’s another cavern of firelight, and Astaroth steps aside to let her continue to lead the way.
