Determined not to make a fuss and simply do what she came here to do, Maea afforded herself only a brief rest while the post was put in place and secured. Looking everywhere except at her fellow Ancients, at most she caught peripheral glimpses of their backs and unfortunately missed both bruises, winks and potential eyerolls.
Throwing herself back into the work for the second post, the tigress resumed digging. Down through layers of soil and grit, piling up the excess where it could easily be packed back down again later; it was a simple task, boring yet satisfying all the same and before long Maea was able to stand back to give the others room.
