we shall heal our wounds, collect our dead
Having been part of the turn the void-corpse into stone and yeet it into the Feverlands crew, Ronin is all too aware of the many tasks facing Torchline. Recent seasons have taught him, though, that said tasks are not always of the Gigantic and Heroic variety, such that this search for a void creature with Noah has been delayed for a little while thanks to an old lady who could not figure out which ship she needed to catch.
Having gotten her safely aboard (Ronin had waved from the dock as the ship set off), they're finally able to set off across the coast. It's still warm compared to Deepfrost in other regions, such that the Knight is only wearing a long sleeved sweater rather than any sort of jacket, and he glances sidelong at Noah as he speaks.
"Oh, I wouldn't say he chose me," he says with a gentle shake of his head and a small and grateful smile down at the sand. "He saved my life. Safrin and I... our relationship had finally reached breaking point, I think. She'd had me agree that for however much stronger Seren became, I would grow weaker, until..." Well, he gets the picture, Ronin hopes.
"Vi intervened, though. And so here I am."
