When Zavien lunges forward it puts her at a disadvantage this time, and though he doesn’t pull her sword from her grip it likely would have happened with a less experienced fighter.

It lets him win the fight for her hilt - but also allows her to bring a foot up to kick toward his chest, forcing him to choose whether to push his weapon advantage or protect his center.
