Feeling it all around him as Thorn follows him over that precipice into bliss and senselessness, it's all Mateo can do to hold onto the table, his head lolling against the courtesan's as he fights for breath and waits for his heartbeat to slow. And when it finally does, he's able to huff out a soft laugh and smile a kiss into the other man's hair; little by little he drops back onto his feet properly, humming an indulgent note at the feel of Thorn still all around him.
"That was a fuck worth waiting for," he says - and the botanist hasn't even realised he has been waiting for it, but that makes it all the better in his opinion. "I will send my compliments to the House of Midnight. Will I be able to find you there?" The question is asked with a hopeful raise of his eyebrows, because maybe it's high time Mateo explores a little more of King's End, if this is what waits for him there.
