He was right, of course. There was no stopping this fight now, and the look on Asta's face had her wondering if the Butcher would have chosen such an option if it did appear. Feeling utterly useless, Maea let herself be guided behind the towering ancient. Not for the first time was she made keenly aware of the difference between sparring and actually fighting, and just how little experience she had fighting people rather than animals. Sticking close to her friend, she watched how the tattoed person managed to throw one of the daggers at Asta before doubling over when the cane struck his gut. The tall woman engaged the attuned and dodged the gut punch, only to take a fist in the face instead. It could have been a swift takedown by the Dusklight crew, but just when it looked like they had the situation under control, a flurry of razor sharp icickes shot through the barrier towards Asta - but so sloppily aimed that most flew wild, towards the crowd of guests that still pushed to get out of the way.
