Maybe later there'd be time for getting to know each other as proper neighbors(ish?) rather than as two dream-sharing prophets... or two crazy people, depending on how it all went down. For the moment, Tal was just glad he didn't have to stumble through the awkward 'hi, my name is Tal and my favorite color is burgundy' phase of meeting a new person, even if that person was as kind and easy to talk to as Elizabeth was.
He looked at her journal and realized that maybe he should have been taking things more seriously, too, but he hadn't realized there was anything more to the nightmare until they'd started talking. He resolved to write down as much as he could remember when he got back to his sisters' house, but for now he buckled down and took another big swallow of his coffee to steel himself and his memory for the questions ahead.
"Yeah... least, I recognized most o' th'faces but yours," he said slowly, brow furrowing and face falling naturally into a scowl of thought. "Th' island at th'start? That was Starfall. I've seen it from th'air when I've made delivery runs t'Torchline." From a distance, at least. He hadn't been brave enough to fly directly over it since Remi had reported the dragons. "But I haven't heard about anyone gettin' inside it yet." Not since Remi and Ronin got thrashed and tossed off it. He took a distracted bite of scone, chewing fiercely and swallowing before continuing.
"Couldn't get a good look at th' people... things... in th' crystal, though. They were all... fuzzy? Like half-baked dough. But at th'end, th' human kind o' faces, there were some leaders. Flora an' Sunjata. An' Halo's Warden," he added reluctantly. "But also just some regular folks. I recognized Fox. He's an Ancient from th'Grounds," he explained. "Monster hunter-type. An' Luka, he's my f-- r-- um. He's Sah Levi's son. Halovian. An' then you."
Tal reached up to rub his nose thoughtfully, leaving behind a dusting of powdered sugar. "Don't supopse y'got a good look at any o' th'Family-things gettin' cooked up inside that crystal?"
