I can survive well enough on my own
Her gaze was glued to the book spines, not paying attention to her surroundings, so when a surprised shout sounded next to her, she nearly came out of her skin. Elizabeth threw a hand to her chest to slow her racing heart before looking to the other woman. The books were forgotten momentarily at the opportunity to meet a new person and she shook her head to deny any fault. "No no. Please don't apologize. I wasn't watching where I was going. The clouds around my head must be so thick that you can't see me!" She chuckled lightly, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear and waving her hand as if to ward off the fluffy white objects. Her mom had always made it a point to physically dispel the distractions of her overactive mind, shifting the air around her head dramatically and fussing about 'too many books.'

Her smile was warm and inviting, happy to see someone even close to her age. "I honestly wasn't expecting to see anyone other than the stuffy old men in here." Elizabeth gestured to the multitude of shelves filled with tomes upon tomes of almost any topic imaginable. "Are you a fellow bibliophile?" Not wanting to appear too eager or overbearing, she made sure to give the woman space in the aisle to make an escape should she desire. Most people didn't come to the Atheneum to talk, after all, however, she was always excited to chat with anyone available.
