and everybody's gotta breathe somehow
Alys hadn't been to Stormbreak in quite some time - not since it was first opened to the Abandoned - but since Tal had some deliveries in the area, she'd decided to take the opportunity to explore a little. She'd spent so long in King's End that she'd been sheltered from many of the goings-on of the world, focusing her attention instead on their home and her shop. It was ironic, really - she'd left the Hollowed Grounds to get away from her parents, who had so wanted her to become a merchant. And here she was, doing exactly what she'd always sworn she wouldn't do. At least now, with an assistant to run the day-to-day, she was better able to travel again. And besides, it was long past time to pull her head from the sand and pay attention to what was happening in Caido - especially if those strange broadcasts were anything to go by.
What she hadn't been expecting as she roamed the city was to find anyone she knew - and yet, as she rounded a corner, her gaze settled on a familiar face, and she paused momentarily before approaching. She hadn't seen Deimos since leaving Halo, but she'd missed her friend. Hopefully he wouldn't be too cross with her for moving away.
As she approached, she was somewhat surprised to see a babbling baby strapped to the Sword's chest. She called out to him as she grew closer, not wanting to startle him when he seemed so entrenched in whatever it was he was writing in a notebook. "Deimos!" Her voice was warm, a somewhat excited smile on her face. "What are you doing in Stormbreak?" She was unused to seeing the man so far from Halo, though she supposed it was just as strange for her to be here as for him.
