A date, the Queen of Torchline had whispered into his ear like a threat. One date, in return for an audience with their lady of the stars and an opportunity to get all the things he wants. It sounds simple - laughable, even, when considering Jack's skillset (that being the ability to literally lift the perfect date from Flora's mind and bring it to life). Quite why it takes him so long to put the plan into action, then, is between the captain and his own thoughts.
