yet my blood renders me a King
Sah felt the tension of the past few weeks bleed out of him at Safrin's tone of voice. He hadn't angered his goddess. Her touch as she lifted his head made the Abandoned shiver slightly and his eyes met hers. The Wild Thunder smiled ruefully at her words, "I didn't either." Truly, he'd never could have predicted the outcome of his fight with Melita. To think that he'd grown strong enough to kill a Demi-god. One in a weakened state, but a Demi-god nonetheless.
Safrin's delight was apparent, and it smoothed the rest of the sharp edges of his guilt into a tentative hope of healing. "I'm relieved to hear that." It would take time to become polished acceptance, but it was the first step.
There was only one thing that still weighed on his mind. "Should I prepare for repercussions from Ludo? I know very little about them, but I did kill their Demi-god." Surely any deity would be angered about the murder of one of their chosen, however temporary. The trickster god was one that Sah had only ever seen in passing. The stories he heard hinted at the being's unpredictability and playfulness. None of it was reassuring.
