Maybe one day, she would explain herself. It might even be today, if she could figure out how. After all, she really had loved Halo and her friends there - it was just that her dearest friend was Ru, and her partner was Tal, and when they both left... well, it only made sense for her to follow. But how was she to explain that without giving offense? Wasn't that explanation just a way of saying, you weren't enough to make me stay to those she'd left behind?
It was easier by far to try and move forward and hope for the best; fortunately, it seemed that Deimos was willing to do the same. Alys stepped closer, joining the Sword on the bench and peering at the infant with a small smile. She'd never been particularly fond of children - not that she disliked them, exactly, but she had very little experience with them. Still, Erebos was rather cute, and Alys smiled at his tiny, waving fist before turning her attention back to Deimos. "Congratulations," she said warmly, meaning it. "He's very cute. With a little one on top of everything else, I'm sure you are busy."
As for the rest - the Void creatures and Starfall and everything that continued to threaten Caido - Alys nodded, her smile falling away. "It's been fine, as far as I can tell - though I think everyone is holding their breath, waiting to see if the Void creatures keep spreading. I'll admit, I'm not particularly up to speed - I've been working to establish my shop, and most of the news I get is secondhand."
