He huffed an annoyed breath as she pulled away and her mood see-sawed back again, from cold to warm in the space of a few heartbeats. Her compliment - was it a compliment? - on the dragon's prowess caused Tal's scowl to take on a complicated twist as if he wasn't quite sure how to take it after her earlier yelling at him. There was a moment of confusion and he seemed to waver but the strange woman's swift addendum had him shaking his head. "Yeah? Well, I'll let y'get back t'studyin' then," he said, annoyed but not particularly surprised when she pulled out a book and started writing. How many other people did he know like that?
