If a star fell from the skies it was not visible, but as per usual a pair of softly gleaming wolves coalesced beside her, issuing a soundless howl. Pointing at Hadama, a thought from the young demigoddess had the star wolves leaping at the king, as dense and forceful as any living thing.
Part of her always felt bad about using her critters to fight. But she also knew that they were magic, a realized fragment of her mother's powers, and that made up for the twinges of guilt and grief. And it wasn't as though charming was all they could do.
